Bellanota is a captivating musical duo in which the rich, expressive voice of the cello meets the refined artistry of the classical guitar. Cellist Kasia Saturna and guitarist Valentina Benvenuti create performances marked by nuance, depth, and a shared passion for chamber music, drawing on their diverse and accomplished backgrounds.
Kasia Saturna was born in Szczecin, Poland, where she began studying the cello at the age of eight. She continued her musical education at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, earning her Master of Music degree, and further refined her artistry through masterclasses in Weimar, Germany. Upon returning to Szczecin, she became principal cellist of the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, a position she held for 15 years. In addition to her distinguished performance career, Kasia is a devoted educator, inspiring generations of students with her musical insight and dedication.
Valentina Benvenuti began her studies in Pesaro, Italy, at the Rossini Conservatory under the guidance of Maestros Ferrante Faedi and Pietro Antinori. She earned her Master’s Degree in Classical Guitar Performance in 2016. Now based in Edmonton, Canada, Valentina is an active and influential member of the local music community. She serves as Vice President of the Edmonton Classical Guitar Society and is the Classical Guitar Instructor at the University of Alberta. Her work spans solo and chamber performance, including her collaboration with Kasia in Bellanota. Her work spans solo and chamber performance, including her collaboration with Kasia in Bellanota. She also performs Baroque guitar with the ensemble Nueva Convivencia and is one of the conductors of the Edmonton Classical Guitar Society Adult Guitar Orchestra, as well as one of the conductors of the YEG Youth Guitar and Violin Orchestra. A dedicated educator, she is deeply committed to sharing her passion for music with her students.
